First- it is important to clear your skin of impurities. I know, I know, how many times have we heard not to do this? Coming from a professional- it is important to rid your skin of the buildup that causes acne, as long as you do it correctly. Using a Scott Paper Towel- wrap it around your fingers and gently use the pads of your finger tips to squeeze out any white heads. Only do this on acne that has come to a head as they are the only ones ready to be extracted and stop before you see blood. The Scott Paper Towel will catch the puss as it extracts- preventing it from spreading onto the rest of your skin as well as keeping you from using your fingernails and potentially scarring your skin. If you have multiple impurities to extract- just change where your fingers are in the paper towel to use a clean area each time.
Then mix your face wash of choice with a bit of water (or a splash of water on your face) and massage into your skin. Don't just rub it all over- actually massage it around. Not only does it feel great but the massage will give you a deeper clean, help relax your skin, increase blood flow, and you can even pause on pressure points for added stress and sinus relief. Then rinse.
Next, pat your face dry- do not rub. Now, I normally use a regular towel for eco purposes, however- I also like to use Scott Paper Towels and here's why. Unless you are changing which towel you use every time, your fabric towel will harbor bacteria which defeats the purpose of cleaning your face in the first place. Using disposable Scott Paper Towels keeps your skin clean, fresh, and bacteria free. While you can't send paper towels to regular recycling plants, there are many other ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle Scott Paper Towels.
Finish your routine by applying serums, toner, eye and wrinkle creams, moisturizer, and finally sunscreen.
