Story: Faceless After Dark starts as Bowie (Kanell) finds herself dealing with mixed fandom after her breakout role in a killer clown movie. She has been doing the convention scene and her partner Jessica (Lyn) must leave for a massive role for her.
As Bowie spends time alone, she starts to work on her own screenplay. She finds herself coming under attack from an obsessed fan. However, this takes her down a darker path as she decides to start making her own movie too.
Verdict on Faceless After Dark
Faceless After Dark is a horror thriller following a breakout star of a horror movie that finds the next stage of her career difficult. It sees her dealing with obsessive fans and unfair criticism while trying to work on her own project. However, when one fan gets too close, her life changes forever.
This is a horror movie that takes things in a direction you wouldn’t expect. It doesn’t hold back on the violent side of everything we see. While balancing the fine line between art and artist. This gets to highlight the dangerous lines people cross when it comes to fandom. As well as the unfair pressure piled upon rising stars. This ends up giving us violence and blood to go with the message and leaves us shocked by the final reveal.
Final Thoughts –Faceless After Dark is a dark twisted tale of a star pushed to their limits.
