Facebook Reportedly Prepping for Possible Post-election Unrest

Facebook has internal tools to calm down unrest in the US that could break out after the election, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday. The tools, previously used in so-called "vulnerable" countries, will help slow the spread of viral content and suppress potentially inflammatory posts, the journal reported.

Facebook said it spent years working towards safer and safer elections.

"We have learned lessons from previous elections, hired experts and put together new teams with experience in different areas to prepare for different scenarios," said a Facebook spokesman. Facebook is struggling to moderate content in all aspects of its huge platform that reaches more than 2 billion people.
