Facebook ever since its launch has been making huge strides of development starting from the dorm room of the young teenage genius. Mark Zuckerberg the man behind this mamooth corporation has struck the right chords at every juncture. It was not too long ago when Mark Zuckerberg made the decision to go the IPO route and it became the biggest IPO in history.
Facebook once again makes a new record with 1.3 billion users accessing the social media site to stay in touch with their friends. This is indeed a huge number and a milestone of a sort. The advertising revenues are already skyrocketing for Facebook this past quarter both in the web and mobile medium. During a recent interview with the press media the company CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed this news and further added that, “On an average every user spends 40 minutes in Facebook everyday”.
Mark Zuckerberg said, “We had a good second quarter”. In another statement he mentioned, “Our community has continued to grow, and we see a lot of opportunity ahead as we connect the rest of the world.”
With such a statement from the highly acclaimed CEO the future looks quite exciting. Facebook is in use around the globe with markets in India, Brazil and China showing abundant growth. The future may eventually become a virtual world with people connecting to their friends and family through social media.
The next few years will pave way to what exactly is ahead. Facebook has also been active in acquisition of profit making companies that are in the social media sphere. So it is clear that the social media giant is heading in the direction which they are familiar with. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and see what they come up with next – hopefully another milestone
