An invitation from Indiblogger, saw me attending the ‘Hexa Experience Centre‘ at the White Orchid Convention Centre, Bengaluru on Christmas Day. Chock-a-block with activity, the center had multiple stalls showcasing other Tata brands (like Mia from Tanishq, Tata beverages and Tata Housing), food counters and activities for children. The cynosure of all eyes was of course the majestic Tata Hexa right in the middle. The stylish SUV that combines the best of design, technology, performance and comfort packs a powerful punch without a doubt.
Tata Hexa – some specifications:
Coming to the features of the car, it is truly a striking beauty with some really stylish features like the 19-inch alloy wheels, smoked projector headlamps and elegant tail lamps. Coupled with the all black sporty interiors, inviting seating and contemporary design, it is a car that is hard to keep your eyes off. Designed with comfort being the top focus, the car comes with flexi seat configuration with the driver’s seat being adjustable 8-way. Rain sensing wipers, electrically adjustable outer rear view mirrors, retractable sun blinds and automatic cruise control are just some of the features that enhance the comfort factor.
The cars’ superior design is only matched by its superlative performance. Powered by the advanced next-gen 2.2L VARICOR 400 diesel engine, the car supports four varied drive modes, namely Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Rough Road. The all wheel drive by Borg Warner™ with torque on demand feature is yet another distinguishing characteristic of the car. Six air bags with ABS ( anti-lock braking system or anti-skid braking system) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution to optimize braking distance makes the car totally safe and stable.
The off road experience:
The off road experience that demonstrated the dynamic performance of the car under truly ‘tough’ conditions was comparable to none other. It was an exciting experience that had your hearts racing and adrenaline pumping. The wonderful team at Tata Hexa showed us features like the Hill hold control and Hill descent control which is really a boon for driving on inclined surfaces as well as sharp slopes and slides. The incredibly strong traction control system prevents excessive wheel slip.
The car was made to cruise over rollers, a flight of stairs and rugged road conditions were simulated using tyres, logs and barriers. This really highlighted the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Roll-over Mitigation feature. The approach angle of 21 degree, 450 mm water wading capability and 200 mm ground clearance surely make the Tata Hexa an amazingly tough beast.
Available in 5 elegant colors and six variants, it is surely one of the cars to watch out for 2017! Click here for all other details on this stupendous car from the house of Tatas.
