The Central Environment Authority (CEA), former Chairman Supun Shashendra Pathirage has been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today.
Meanwhile, the two other arrestees were further remanded until 26 November.
Three persons including the Chairman of the Central Environment Authority were arrested by the officials of the Bribery Commission late Friday.
It has been alleged that he asked for a bribe of Rs.10 million to facilitate a environmental clearance permit for refining the discarded fuel removed from ships.
