Everything Easter at Viktualien Market in Munich

Viktualien Market is Munich’s most famous market originating from a farmer’s market and dating back 200 years!  At any time of the year you will find a mind boggling variety of cheeses, meat, fruits, vegetables, baked goods and much more.   But at this time of year, you may want to hop, not run to Viktualien Market for all the Easter handicrafts on offer:

Viktualien Market is open daily Monday to Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00pm, but many shops close earlier.  If you want a beer, you will have to wait until 9:00 am, since the beer garden doesn’t open until 9:00 am – tough life I know.  Viktualien Market is located a block  south of Marienplatz and is well signed.

If you can’t get enough of Easter you may want to hop a bit further to Germany’s only Easter Egg Museum located in Sonnenbühl, just over 200km west of Munich or 60km south of Stuttgart.
