Greeted with white wine on arrival, I chatted to a couple bloggers and looked at all the handmade jewelry. DYO's Owner and creator, Janet spoke to each of the bloggers individually and it was clear how passionate she was about what she does. She gave a presentation about the company, explaining its roots and introduced the unique interface they will be launching in July which looks incredible!
When the interface launches you'll be able to go to their website and design your own necklace with just a few clicks. You can make it as personalised as you like, down to the size, shape and color of the beads. A really great way to make a unique thoughtful present for someone special. DYO are hoping to branch out into weddings and be able to give the correct codes for the wedding colours so the jewelry will match perfectly! Something that you really can't get on the high street, but it's going to be completely affordable too as you pick your price limit. I can't wait to see the interface launch and have a proper go at using it!
As I mentioned earlier, part of our event was a jewelry making masterclass and I really enjoyed it. I won't lie, it was quite fiddly but I think for my first attempt at making a necklace, I did pretty well. I hope they do more workshops like this in the future, it was a lot of fun and I know so many people would love to have a go!
