Country pursuits and entertainment for all
Looking for a great day out on the weekend of 19-20 August?
Then look no further than Galloway Country Fair. We first visited last year and had a smashing time.
There will be food and drink a plenty with almost 40 exhibitors in the Food and Drink Marquee, including a hog roast. Crafty Gin will be on hand, showing off cocktail recipes, and with stands, displays and shops selling some amazing country wear there is no danger of getting bored. BTW...check out the long coats. Outstanding!
There is also a great area for children with face painting, puppets, bouncy castle and opportunities to meet their favourite superheroes.
For me though the animal displays always prove fascinating. The dogs are stunning to watch, the owls an education, and this year they are joined by Atkinson Action Horses. The horses feature regularly in film and TV and will be putting on a display of tricks including Roman Riding, Drags, Falls, Pick Ups, Flips, Horses Rearing and Laying Down. I'm exhausted just thinking about it...
But maybe you fancy something a bit more active? No problem, there will be plenty of opportunities for hands on experience in all manner of country pursuits, And if you have ever fancied a bit of 4X4 rough terrain driving, this is your big chance to have a go.
