Brought to you by Nuffnang and Epson
We got a hold of a brand new Expression Photo SXP-950 ultra compact printer to test out. After trying it out, it was clear to see that this baby is more than just a good printer; it’s in a class of its own.
Frank decided to print a few test photos on some glossy A3 photo paper and here’s what he printed:
Himself
A puppy dog
A lovely Victoria’s Secret Angel
A sweet BMW Café Racer
Photography by his friend Adrian Emerton
A Badass shot from a badass movie.
Look and Feel
Our first impression of the unit was a positive one. The XP-950 is visual delight. Boasting a sleek black body, simplistic form and smooth lines this printer exudes more than enough sex appeal to proudly rest on any desktop or shelf.
Print Quality
Epson’s six-colour Claria Photo HD Ink with six individual cartridges delivers a superior quality print. We were extremely impressed with the clarity and rich, vibrant colours of the images we printed. Even our A3 prints were of a quality we’d expect from a professionally printed photo. It’s no wonder the XP-950 won an award for ‘Best Photo Printer’.
Whether you’re a DSLR enthusiast or just someone looking to extract their photos out of the digital world, the XP-950 will really bring your photos to life.
More Than Just a Regular Printer
Instead of only having the capability of printing on boring documents on plain old A4 paper, Epson have stepped up their print game. The XP-950 prints onto all paper sizes up to A3 and it can even handle A3 photo paper or card. To top it off the XP-950 also has the ability to scan and copy. All this packed into a body size similar to that of a typical A4 printer.
Wi-Fi and Remote Access
Epson are minimising clutter and maximising connectivity. They’ve done away with the cable between printer and computer, replacing it with Wi-Fi connectivity.
An added bonus of Wi-Fi connectivity is that you can also print from your smartphone or tablet. Each printer has its own email address and photos can be sent to print remotely. The XP-950 is also compatible with Google Cloud Print and scanned photos can be linked with cloud storage sites such as Dropbox, Google Drive and Evernote.
Other Cool Features
The unit features two front loading trays, one rear loading tray and can even print onto CD’s and DVD’s, making it easy to print onto various paper types and sizes.
The touchscreen control panel is easy to operate and has and allows for angular adjustment.
