I am one of those people who totally thinks I can bust a move on the dance floor, but my son begs to differ.  Regardless of your personal sense of rhythm, there is something liberating about dancing. I envy those who can use their bodies in such beautiful expression, which is why I am so excited to share Bruce Wood Dance Project with you! This Dallas-based dance company will present a captivating dance concert at the Dallas City Performance Hall on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18. You will delight in the exquisite beauty of Carved In Stone - a world premiere by Fort Worth native Joy Atkins Bollinger. Next is the world premiere of Skin - a riveting work by Houston-based dancemakers Andy and Dionne Noble of NobleMotion. Bringing the evening to a romantic finale is Bruce Wood®’s homage to Cole Porter. Anything Goes is set to Porter’s fabulous songs, and celebrates the bon vivant of the 1920s. Tickets are available online at brucewooddance.org or call the Dallas Winds Box Office at 214-428-2263 or you can live on the edge and enter to win one of three FREE pairs of tickets that BWDP has given me to give away.

Bruce Wood Dance Project was launched in Dallas in January 2011 to champion the vision, leadership, and artistry of nationally acclaimed Texan dance-maker Bruce Wood®. BWDP picked up where the successful Fort Worth-based Bruce Wood Dance Company left off. Bruce Wood® was a nationally acclaimed choreographer of 80 works from 1994 until his untimely death in 2014. He was a passionate artist driven by a maverick spirit. He poured his heart and soul into his dances, and loved being in the studio working with his dancers. BWDP is one of the most celebrated dance companies in Dallas. Over the past five years, BWDP has received rave reviews and awards, and has been included on every annual Top Ten Dance list by The Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and TheaterJones.com. Fortified by Wood’s legacy, artistic director Kimi Nikaidoh leads this exhilarating Dallas-based company into its sixth year with new work and fresh new collaborations.
