Enjoy Being Quiet, creative and Kind to Others.

By Djridings @fivethingsnow
Sorry for the two days off blogging. I have been travelling the UK and it has not been easy to sit down and publish. Anyway here are some superb suggestions from Val who it the author of the superb blog www.lettersfromval.com. This blog is all about sharing and if you would like to contribute then please just e-mail David at 5thingstodotoday@gmail.com.So, here are the suggestions for today.1) Be kind today. Your act of kindness could be as simple as holding a door open for someone, buying a homeless person a meal, or helping a stranger who’s overburdened with bags. All are gifts.2) Be silent. Don’t think of things you have to do or where you need to be, just sit. Find a quiet place, preferably on a park bench, under a large tree, and breathe deeply. Enjoy your newfound peace.3) Think of what you loved to do at 7 years old and do it today, even, and especially, if it’s something you “shouldn’t.” (For ex: Eat all the candy you want, have cookies for breakfast, run through sprinklers, make mud castles, do jumping jacks and cartwheels on the lawn.)4) Get creative. Everyone’s creative in their own way, so don’t convince yourself you’re not. Buy a sketch pad and some watercolors, or cook a creative meal, write a short story or poem (no one has to read it), or wear something outrageous or start a blog (it’s free). Creativity comes in all forms.5) Be thankful. Being appreciative of all you’ve been given becomes a habit, and soon you’re joyful. Think like Pollyanna (Eleanor H. Porter’s fictional girl wonder), and start off being glad for the smallest of things: any one of your senses, the sunrise, a healthy day, or another day that you’re alive, music, a new friend, etc. If you get stuck, read Pollyanna, and smile. Thanks for reading.Davidwww.facebook.com/5thingstodotoday
