Endurance Brings Reward.

By Sydneygrace @SydneyGrace121

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. {Hebrews 12:1-3}

I had all of last week off from school, and this week I’m coming back from my week-long break. If you’re in school {and if you’re not, just think back to when you were!}, you know how it feels. You get spoiled by being off and the thought of going back seems really unappealing.

{You also may or may not have the equivalent of Mt. Kilimanjaro’s weight in work that you need to do…}.

When I get down about things like this, friends, I just think: endurance brings reward. It pays off. I don’t want to do the ridiculous amount of work I have to do before summer break starts, but I know I’m not doing it in vain. I endure the hours of bore-me-to-tears, I-’d-rather-be-doing-anything-else-in-the-world-right-now work, and then it pays off. I get summer break. 3 whole glorious months of it {more than the last couple years}, and it’s so close I can almost touch it. I’m in the home stretch!

Sometimes we’re put in situations that we just want to end. Right now. Don’t think that means it’s not part of God’s plan, though! None of us understand God, and we’re not meant to. We’re just meant to know that whatever He does in our life’s is for our own good. He has a plan {Jer. 29:11}.No matter what it is, whether it be school {which really isn’t all that horrible} or something much more serious, endurance and perseverance are key. Even if it isn’t right at this moment, your home stretch will come too.

This Monday morning, fill yourself up with hope. Light always surrounds darkness. Nothing lasts forever! Persevere, work hard, and strive to do your best right now; Play and enjoy the fruits of your labor later. :)

For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. {Hebrews 10:36}

Have a blessed & amazing day!

love,

Sydney
