THE SHOWS Empire Season Finale
A lot went down in the season finale. Of course Jamal's alive and Cookie's outfits were amazing, but we also found out that the cop after Lucious is his half bro, Anika did push Rhonda down the stairs and Laura couldn't possibly marry Hakeem. Rather than lose the deposit and some of the guests, Lucious married Anika so that she couldn't testify against him next season. Now that baby inside her is Lucious's stepson and grandson, right? What we won't know until next season is whether it was Rhonda or Anika who went flying off the roof and if Lucious's Mom was able to get over her addiction to pistachio's in the shell.
Black-ish Season Finale
If you're of the age where you know who Florida, James, JJ, Thelma, Michael, Willona and Penny are, then you probably really enjoyed and appreciated the Black-ish season finale/Good Times tribute episode. If you have no idea who those people are and don't hear Jimmy JJ Walker's voice saying "DyNOmite" when you read it then...don't bother watching.
Lip Sync Battle
Teigen seemed to have issues with her dress. She said it was too short but she's definitely worn shorter. This week, Josh Peck vs. Christina Millian. The two Grandfathered co-stars are currently out of work as their show's been cancelled. 1st round was allll Bieber
Christina Millian's "Baby" was actually perfection...even the Luda wrap part was spot ON.
Josh Peck's "What Do You Mean" was a bit of a mess, a bit funny, a bit overdone, still...enjoyable. 2nd round, Christina performed JLo's "Waiting for Tonight" and killed it. Perfect hair, outfit, moves and lipsync. No mic block needed. Josh followed with that Thong song. He was good and he won but Christina Millian was definitely the winner and deserved the belt, they reallllly need a more official voting system than audience applause. Spike has gotten smarter and only posted clips of the performances so now...you have to just watch the show. Here's what I could find:

THE OTHER STUFF The CW Upfront
By far the quickest and least controversial of the bunch.
No mention of data, no digital dissing, and only 50 minutes long.
I'm not sure why the CW thinks it's a good idea to wake us all up with a band but it's become a tradition so this year's alarm clock was Fitz and the Tantrums. It's a tough room regardless of the hour and I always feel bad for the talent when nobody claps or dances or anything.  After the awkward opening number, Rob Tuck came out did his thing, Gina Rodriguez and Rachel Bloom came out and did their thing (which was sort of lame.) Then Mark Pedowitz came out and did his thing. I was very distracted and sort of hypnotized by Mark's super hip, very LA looking spectacles. These things were way too cool to be called glasses. I'm not sure I believed the "most critically acclaimed broadcast network" stat but I'm way too lazy to check on it. More super heroes on this network than anywhere else, especially now with Supergirl added to the lineup.  A wacky but sort of cool new show starring the dude from Galavant about a couple living out their bucket list before the world ends. The Galavant guy was sporting a crazy mustache that made him look like he had a side gig as a carny. Also on the slate, another time travel show called Frequency which was a movie with Dennis Quaid. My Last Days, a show that will launch on the network and then head over to he CW Seed online, about terminally ill, inspiring people, had me in tears. Riverdale is supposedly inspired by the Archie comics but this version is the polar opposite...dark and sort of creepy. Good news though for all of us 90210'ers...Luke Perry's in it. There used to be so much for me on the CW but I'm not a super hero person and I'm definitely not into scary stuff, but I will probably check out No Tomorrow and in August, I'll definitely cry my head off watching My Last Days. A nice ending to a long but enjoyable Upfront week.

-RIP to Morley Safer.

-Bad news for Grey's Anatomy fans...Sara Ramirez, aka Callie is leaving the show and will not be back for Season 13.

-Russell Wilson will be back to host Kids Choice Awards on Nickelodeon 7/17 and John Cena will be hosting the ESPY's on 7/13. Betting that Russell's at the ESPY's and Cena's at Kids Choice Awards. Busy week for those two.
Friday's Trivia Question: This couple is dating in real life and about to have their first child together. He once starred in Brothers and Sisters and she once starred in Felicity. Name them and the show they currently star in together.
