Emmecosta Blow Away International Audiences [stream]

I’ve often wondered whether language barriers affect the way we listen to music — bands like Emmecosta, though, allow me to believe that music alone, with or without lyrics, is a universal language. The four-piece alternative/rock band, originally from Positano, Italy and now residing in Göteborg, Sweden, were discovered after they enjoyed sweeping successes in various international music competitions (such as Emergenza). Now, the band are aspiring to share their music with as much of Europe as possible, and hopefully go on to spread the word internationally.

“Brontos” is an emotionally-fueled, alt-rock affair with heartstring-tugging acoustic guitar and an eerie uprising of synth sounds. The addition of a distorted news story unraveling in the background gives an added dimension to the track, making it an addictive, emotion-grabbing tune. If you enjoy the likes of well-versed, non-cheesy euro-rock in general, take a listen to Emmecosta and support their thunderous passion.
