There’s no doubt that one of the most fun parts of any fashion week is dressing up for the occasion. Street style photographers make a special effort to hang out around the fashion week tents, scouting the stylish and daring outfits donned by the show-goers to showcase in their publications. Normally I opt for flowy or flouncy materials when I go out, but this fall I’m really feeling more comfortable in my own skin and more interested in elevated casual looks. I find that a good pair of jeans and a sweater can be taken from lounge to luxury with a sleek hairdo and a pair of heels, so this World MasterCard Fashion Week I played with curve-hugging casuals instead of pretty dresses. This outfit, worn on Day 2 of WMCFW, takes a basic high-waisted jean and crop sweater and makes them elegant with nude stiletto mary janes and my favorite oversized statement coat.
