Elephant Print & White Jeans

By Savoir_style @Savoir_Style

Sometime around a month or two ago, someone went ahead and took the liberty to comment on my shoe size. "OMG, You wear a 8.5 size shoe!" and I thought to myself, last I checked It wasn't a crime to wear a shoe that is a size 8.5. Moreover, since they make shoes in that size, people must have feet of that size, No?

I have always been teased about having big feet. You know when you are in your teens, it does hurt all that much more. You are still learning your way around the world. But, Hey I am 30ish! The thing is I don't comment on people's physical appearance and that's why I always find myself on the other side. No matter, what the other person may think, It is still body shaming!

So, if I don't comment on the other person's weight, height, feet size or general physical apperance - I wonder why people think it is OK to take the liberty?"

Questions I have been asked that I think come in the realm of body shaming

"OMG, You wear a 8.5 size shoe!" { My Thought "Yes I do and there is a definite correlation between height and shoe size that you need to look up"}

"OMG, You are so skinny, How do you manage to stay skinny" { My Thought "I need to go home and stock up on protein. You may have no idea but I am actually trying to gain weight. I consider comments on anyone's weight, body shaming "}

"You are Tall, Why do you still wear heels?" ( My Thought "Uhm, My Husband's 6 feet tall and I am trying to keep up with him"}

These are just a few but seriously they need to stop! You know I always wonder what it will be like to be on the other side where you are the one ruining someone else's day. I just can't do it. The more you travel the world, the more you realize that we tend to train our minds to see only a certain type of beauty. Everyone's beautiful with all their imperfections and flaws. If we didn't have those flaws, we would just be clones of each other. Train your mind to see the good in everything! It is not important, It is essential!

Ahh, Well on that note, Today's outfit was put together with the elephant print top as a focal point. I fell in love with the print on this Hi-Lo top and the crochet around the hem. I wear it today with white jeans, block heel sandals and an electric blue tote. The accessories in today's outfit are a turquoise necklace and braided bracelets.

What do you think of today's outfit? What are your thoughts on Body Shaming? I look forward to reading your thoughts.
Have a kick ass Thursday!
