“We got married in summer in Athens, Greece. I lived in London and Giovanni was living in Italy. We met on a sunny day in Milano back in May 2016, in what was a true meeting of fate. I was on a summer assignment for the company that I worked for, and Giovanni’s contract for the same company was supposed to finish the week before I arrived, but got extended last minute. I walked into the office on the Monday and we were asked to work together on a project. He spoke very little English at the time, and I didn’t speak a word of Italian, so we spent the first few weeks using google translate and we quickly became inseparable. Giovanni proposed on my birthday, while we were in London. Him and my sister organized a birthday lunch for me at this beautiful restaurant and at the end of lunch a pink orchid in a bowl was brought to me with the engagement ring in the center of it, I still remember seeing something sparkling in the middle of the orchid and how I was in complete shock, at the same time a cake came out with the message “Happy Birthday will you spend your life with me?” After lunch we went for a walk and all of a sudden, our song started playing and he started dancing with me in the middle of the street, It was one of the most special and unforgettable birthdays I ever had!”, Carolina shared with us.

“My wedding dress was a gorgeous fairytale off-the shoulder princess style lace wedding dress with handmade embroidery and a long train which followed me as I walked. My wedding dress was also accompanied with a cathedral style lace embroidered veil”.

“For the wedding theme we wanted something initially Tuscan inspired, set in a garden with beautiful surroundings which is why we thought Golf Prive was the perfect location with the greenery and large terrace. The flower color palette we chose was a mixture of pink and white roses, hydrangeas, lysianthus and overflowing greenery which smelled divine. For my bouquet I went for a mixture of O’Hara roses and peonies. The decoration details I enjoyed the most were the beautiful sweets for the candy table which looked like small pieces of art, almost too beautiful to eat. The pink and white sweet treats blended perfectly with the floral surroundings and the backdrop of the tree at the Golf Prive which was also decorated with upside down roses. I also loved the floral decorations and the variety of high and low flower arrangements. Another decoration detail which was very touching to me were the candles which were used for our bridal table. One of my best friend’s hand painted the candles with our monogram in gold and green to match the theme, and they were truly spectacular and looked fabulous set in between the long floral garland which accompanied our bridal table”.

“After having to postpone our wedding date four times and downsizing due to the pandemic we were truly just so grateful that we were able to celebrate our wedding with our families and closest friends. There were so many favorite moments from the best day of our lives, but one which we both loved was our entrance into the reception with the firework corridor which lead us to our first dance. The whole setting with the backdrop of fairy lights, the candles, flowers, and the live violinist felt extremely magical and romantic, it was an emotional moment for both of us and our families”.

Bride’s advice: “Enjoy the planning process, make sure the wedding represents what both you and your partner want, try not to stress over the small details, and truly take the time to enjoy the day. Many people had told us it passes by so quickly, but you never understand how quickly it passes until you experience it yourselves”.
