Before his conference EA Play Live, scheduled for June 19 and supposed to reveal the line up of its upcoming titles, the publisher Electronic Arts has just unveiled its next game exploiting the Star Wars license, after the box of its Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order (which we mentioned here). Her name ? Star Wars: Squadrons. Something to remind the oldest of you of the fond memories of Star Wars Rebel Assault and other X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter ...
The game will therefore offer multiplayer air combat in 5 Vs 5, but also battles of imposing fleet and an original scenario taking place during the last days of the Galactic Empire and the rise of the New Republic after the events of Star Wars : Return of the Jedi. The game will be released on October 2, 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Steam and the Epic Games Store and will be playable in virtual reality (VR) on PlayStation 4 and PC with cross-play compatibility. The publisher should unveil the first gameplay images of the title during its event of June 19 (broadcast at 1:00 am French time).
Star War: Squadrons will also feature a single player scenario to relive the events following the Battle of Endor where the Rebel Alliance managed to destroy the second Death Star. Throughout history, players will operate two customizable pilots serving the New Republic (within Vanguard Squadron) and the Galactic Empire (Titan Squadron). This story will cross paths with obviously well-known figures from the Star Wars universe.
