Eight Books, Eight Weeks

Twenty-Twelve's Summer Reading List It pains me to confess something. Before May, I hadn't finished a book from cover to cover in nearly a year. Atrocious, I know. I'm a very very bad English Lit student. I had to read Wide Sargasso Sea for a creative writing course I was taking a little while, and I'm hooked again. Thank god for that. I was getting worried about my sanity for a minute there... I never fall out of love with literature, but sometimes it just feels like waaay too much effort. However, I've thrown together a little pile of books that I would really like to read the summer and because I'm oh-so organised I've started already. I'm halfway through Caitlin Moran's book; How To Be A Woman and I bloody love it. She's actually laugh out loud hilarious. In fact, I love it so much I'm already getting all excited about her next book, which is out in 79 days... not that I'm counting or anything.Tess of the D'Urbervilles and The French Lieutenant's Woman are books that I need to demolish for next year's distance learning course, but the rest are there because Waterstones had a buy-one-get-one-half-price sale on. I know I said I hated Tess earlier this week, and so I'm not exactly thrilled to have to be reading it - but as I said then, it's worth another try. Have you read any of these? Any good? I think I'm most excited about reading The Book Thief. **If you have a summer reading goal, please leave a comment and I'll add the link to the bottom of this post. I'd love to know what you are all reading!**
