This partiality towards eggs isn’t for nothing, considering that eggs are little powerhouses of nutrients from protein to folate to choline and so much more! Start off with a plain boiled yolk and then progress to our unique and interesting recipe for today – egg yolk mash with orange juice! This recipe is ideal for babies over 8 months.
Egg Yolk Mash With Orange Juice for Babies
Ingredients:
- 1 egg, at room temperature
- 2-3 tablespoons of freshly extracted orange juice
Method:
1. Place the egg in a sauce pan and pour enough water to cover it.
2. Bring the water to a rolling boil on medium heat. Let it boil for 5-7 minutes.
3. Cover the saucepan and let the egg sit in the hot water for 10 minutes.
4. Take out the egg and let it to cool down. Peel and cut it into half.
5. Take out the yolk in another bowl or plate and mash using a fork.
6. Pour in the fresh orange juice and mix well with the egg yolk.
7. Serve immediately.
Please make sure that your baby is familiar with boiled egg yolk and orange juice separately before trying this recipe. If you are unsure about whether baby will like the combination, start off with a small quantity of orange juice, and increase it gradually.
