Edina's Centennial Lakes and Edinborough Park... Fun Winter Destinations for Kids

By Homesmsp @HomesMSP

This has been a cold, snowy winter, with five days in January so cold that schools were closed! Last week was one of those weeks... the kind of week where kids start bouncing off the walls. We had a grandkid sleepover Friday night and decided it would be better to let them run and play and slide and jump in  Adventure Peak in Edina's Edinborough Park than in our place!

One of the biggest indoor play structures in the country, they easily spent a couple hours climbing the 30-foot high oak tree... and running, crawling and sliding down 5 different slides in the 44' by 44' by 37' high structure. Our grandkids' favorite slide was the new orange super slide where they flew out when they reached bottom!

Adventure Peak was built on the site of what used to be an indoor skating rink in the indoor Edinborough Park. Within site of Edinborough Park is the outdoor skating rink at Centennial Lakes.

The "Peak" is a 44-by-44-by-37 foot high climbing, low crawling, slip sliding Northwoods adventure. Climb into the 30-foot tall oak tree, slide down one of the four giant tube slides or wash down the triple wave slide. Climb across a canyon, scale the climbing wall and venture to the 30 foot lookout to spy around the Park. From the lookout, slide down the very popular and very fast new super slide. - See more at: http://edinamn.gov/index.php?section=edinborough-park-adventure-peak#sthash.6zAkD38H.dpuf The "Peak" is a 44-by-44-by-37 foot high climbing, low crawling, slip sliding Northwoods adventure. Many neighborhoods have outdoor skating rinks... and we don't have to worry about the ice melting this year!
