Taking the notice of additional security being provided to Sharif brothers, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday ordered its withdrawal.

ECP had received complaints that a whopping security is being provided to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif and former chief minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif. The complaint stated that about 761 security personnel and 54 vehicles are in use of Sharif family.

ECP ordered to take back the additional security and protocol of Sharif brothers and directed the provincial chief secretary to provide the security to them as former prime minister and former chief minister Punjab, which the law “permits”.
