Eat and Party Like a Berliner

By Hannah @Hannah_Beraud

Our first night out in Berlin was pretty intense and we started getting a feel of how the city worked, understand the special German vibe. We rised and shined at noon and got dressed quickly to get some food.

Day in West Berlin // After the worst one hour and a half Uber trip we could ever have wished for (the low of the weekend...) we finally arrived at Barcomi's in the trendy area of Mitte . And let me tell you that this is one super trendy foodie address!

We shared all of the dishes above. Two words: F.O.O.D C.OM.A. We however managed to stroll (or just roll) around the area and take a look at the local shops before getting back to our Berlin home and nap the food off.

Night in East Berlin // East or West, we were amazed by how quiet the city is.. This peaceful atmosphere was a real gift for us Londoners, constantly polluted by noise and crowd. Maybe you are used to this, but we were pretty stunned! We had the best nights of sleep (and parties) and were fully rested on Saturday night to go to the wild side: East Berlin. We started our adventurous evening with a late dinner in an asian restaurant (forgot the name Oops). Yes again! We have never eaten as much asian food as in Berlin and for such cheap prices. Again, it was a real pleasure for us Londoners when every bill per person was €15 (including wine) instead of our usual £35 in London. Our pleasant dinner was then followed by an attempt to enter the gay/electro club Berghain (if you have never heard of this one, people who have managed to go pass the bouncer Sven say its quite a once in a lifetime experience) and ended up in another very famous nightclub called Watergate with a breath taking view on the river.

At the end of the night, or start of the day Berlin had convinced us with their international, affordable and dynamic food and clubbing scene. And if you thought East London is hipster and edgy or sketchy, well, you haven't been to East Berlin thats for sure. If you are still thinking of some week-end getaways for this summer, LYA suggests you book your low-cost Easyjet tickets ASAP and travel to the German capital.
