Easington Colliery Beach Jaunt

By Richard Randall @aude11360

These last few days I’ve been ‘Hors de Combat’, so poor old Barley the Lurcher has missed a couple of low tide beach days at Hordon Beach or Crimdon Beach.
It’s not been that much of a problem though, because the weather has been fine, and he’s been able to spend lots of time at home, playing outside.

Today the weather is on the change, with lots of rain forecast to be on the way, so I decided to take Barley down to the local beach in Easington Colliery. It is only a short 10 minute walk from home. It is a pebble and rock beach but Barley the Lurcher was happy to explore the rock pools, and high tide mark looking for fishy things. He did not get to run, but he seemed happy enough lolloping along exploring.
Fingers crossed, I’ll be back to full fitness soon, so that we can have a ‘proper’ beach day, and Barley the Lurcher can enjoy a good run.
