A mother who consumed alcohol and behaved violently has died when her son had hit her with a broom stick.
The incident is reported from Galgamuwa Wannikuda Wewa area.
The Giribawa Police investigating the murder said that the deceased is a 52-year-old woman named Bandara Menike who was a habitual drinker.
The Police also said that the woman who had consumed alcohol on April 4 had a fight with her husband. Unable to control his parents, the 30-year-old son had attacked them with a broom stick. The mother who was attacked and sustained injuries had been admitted to the Galgamuwa Hospital. Police said that she had died while being brought home on April 5, after receiving treatment from the hospital.
