Driving Tests Can Be Fun

By Adventuresinamyland

I was not looking forward to having to sit in a van for four hours while my teammates that wanted to be certified to drive took their road tests, but, as usual, I am now singing a different tune. The driving instructor, Kelly (fellow Chicagoan!) brought us up to Red Rocks which is this really incredible concert venue. It’s only open from late spring to early fall but it doubles as a gym in the off-season. People were running up and down the stairs and jumping on the walls for their Wednesday morning workout. If you look closely you can see the Denver skyline where the mountain in the distance slopes down.

I’m starting to feel pretty lucky that I got assigned to the Denver campus. Would I be seeing as amazing stuff in Vinton, Iowa or Sacramento, California or Vicksburg, Mississippi? Heck no!

We did our first baseline today. Get ready for some stats. Push-ups in one minute: 47. Sit-ups in one minute: 36. One-and-a-half mile run: 15:19. I’m going to blame the altitude because I’m not sure how I pulled off those push-ups or sit-ups. Whoa! I, like everyone else, usually blame the altitude for just about everything that is going wrong, but I think it really pulled through for me this time.
