Dr Aseem Malhotra seems to have spent an awful lot of time hammering the Junk Food Industry's cynical sponsoring of sports events like last year's Olympic Games (official 'restaurant' of the 2012 olympics, was the slogan that me laugh the most) via his numerous articles of concern on the BBC's website.And he's right - processed sugar is the bane of Consumerist Humanity, and has been DIRECTLY CONNECTED to both obesity, diabetes and cancer.
But is taxing sugar really the way to go?
Of course, it's a captive audience. Most processed foods, i.e. soups, ready meals and fizzy drinks, that so many people call a 'staple diet', are literally full to the brim with "sugar" in all its various forms: Agave Nectar, Barley Malt Syrup, Corn sweetener, Corn syrup, or corn syrup solids, Dehydrated Cane Juice, Dextrin, Dextrose, Fructose, Fruit juice concentrate, Glucose, High-fructose corn syrup, Honey, Invert sugar, Lactose, Maltodextrin, Malt syrup, Maltose, Maple syrup, Molasses, Raw sugar, Rice Syrup, Saccharose, Sorghum or sorghum syrup, Sucrose, Syrup, Treacle, Turbinado Sugar,

"You're hooked, now pay for that shit!" this seems to be the answer to our processed-food-fuelled Sugar Addiction. Dr Aseem Malhotra's taking his doctors' report to UK Parliament to propose the Fizzy Drinks Tax (as it's being called) and I'm sure they'll go for it. Dr Malhotra actually said, "Education isn't working," this morning on Sky TV. How on Earth can You The People compete for intellect against the constant onslaught from McDonalds, Nestle and Coca Cola? For many, the Consumerist Product IS their education; at least their aspiration.
In fact, think back to the term JUNK FOOD - "junk" is the old junkie word for their DRUGS, that shit they drill into their veins. You know, Big Brother has sold you SUGAR ADDICTION for the last few decades. They KNOW you're a junkie for it. And they don't give a damn about your health. This scandal is worse than Al Gore's state-funded fake-Global Warming i.e. Carbon Tax, scandal. Tell the people, "You're lethally sugar-addicted BY CORPORATE DESIGN, and you need to get yourself off that shit," if you're able.
Education is the only way forward; Free Planet is the only way forward.
