Dots Jukebox: New Music Part 2: Teleman, The Very Wicked and Catfish & The Bottlemen

As part of the run-up to my 100th Dots Jukebox, I wanted to do something a little bit different. I asked my music loving friends on Twitter to suggest their favorite song by a new artist (or the most recent they can think of), asking them to do so secretly. I compiled all suggestions, and instead of the normal Dots Jukebox evening, I’ve written a one line review of every song and will be revealing them over the course of two days.

Suggested by @katie_zoid , I bring you 23 Floors Up by Teleman, from their debut album “Breakfast” which was released in May of this year. This band formed from past members of the wonderful Pete & The Pirates, so they were bound to be something special, I think!

Next up is a suggestion from @chasethegroove – The Very Wicked‘s song No Time from their debut album “You’re the Everything In Us” which was released in March of this year.

Catfish & The Bottlemen are up next. @northernnelly suggested their upcoming single, Fallout, which is from their debut album, The Balcony, due for release in September.

DOTTY VIEW: Despite being somewhat dark and raw, this song’s prominent bassline and bright vocals push it into that ever popular catchy indie ballpark.
