3 Questions That Arise From This Story
1. Now that we know that the French are likely to get rid of gifts they don’t want, does this mean America may have been re-gifted the Statue of Liberty by France? If so, pretty sweet deal, and time to reconsider your getting rid of gifts policy, France!
2. Just how bad at giving gifts are the people of France? Answer: not too bad, because they know somebody wants to buy these gifts on eBay. Perhaps France would increase its odds of gift-keeping by initiating a national “Secret Santa” policy, where random strangers buy each other gifts, because the odds of unwanted gifts can’t get worse, right? We mean, we assume there’s no Radio Shack in France, so there’s no where to go but up!
3. What if you give someone from France an eBay gift card? Yes, it would be ironic if you thought “My niece loves eBay soooooo much, I’ll get her an eBay gift card!” But c’est la vie, and maybe someone else can use the unwanted eBay gift card to buy more unwanted eBay gift cards on eBay. Think about it!
