Frantic 911 calls of a baby lion is triggered by one DOG'S lionesque haircut | CNN

When you've had a bad hair day, even the worst doesn't usually alarm the people around
you to call the authorities. You usually get over it and start the next day fresh. But the haircut of one DOG in the town of Norfolk, Virginia scared enough folks into calling 911.

Meet Charles the Monarch, a 3-year-old male Labradoodle a Labrador and Poodle mix with a very unusual haircut. His owner Daniel Painter takes him for grooming every four months to achieve that “lionesque” look to resemble the Old Dominion University mascot. The drama all started on Tuesday when sightings of a baby lion was spotted wandering the streets when three 911 calls about a "lion" were reported to the Police on Wednesday, reports the Pilot.

“I’d like to report a lion sighting,” reported the first 911 caller.  “There was a lion that ran across the street. A baby lion. It was about the size of a Labrador retriever. “...It’s roaming loose in the neighborhood,” she said.

Minutes later, a second caller dialed in and said
“I just saw an animal that looked like a small lion.”
It had “the mange and everything,” a man said.
The dispatcher said a report was already made “I’m not sure if it actually is a lion or not, but I’ll update the information.”

Hours later the third caller makes a report “just saw a baby lion...” a man reported.
“What kind of animal?” the dispatcher later asked him. “...OK. You think it’s looking for food?” the dispatcher asked.
