David came upon a large, black dog standing in the middle of the road. She was able to stop her car, and the other vehicles around her skirted David, and the dog, as well.
Though David attempted to coax the dog into her car, and away from danger, the dog had other plans.
The dog made it clear that she needed help, barking at David until she realized that she was to follow.
As the pair approached a ditch along the roadway, the source of the dog’s concern was apparent – there was a car which could not be seen from the interstate.
It turns out that the dog, “Juno,” was in the vehicle with her guardian and a cat at the time of the accident; the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel.
Emergency responders arrived to help, and the injured driver was taken to the hospital where she is expected to be okay.
Juno, though rattled, is okay as well.
Unfortunately, there was no sign of the cat that had been in the vehicle and David fears that the broken windshield, covered in blood, indicates that the feline did not survive…
There are two heroes in this story – Juno, the faithful dog committed to finding help for her guardian, and Debbie David, the one driver who stopped to try and help the dog who was standing in the middle of the interstate.
