These two charts are from the Religious News Service. It concerns god. A lot of religious people say they believe in god -- but what do they mean by god? Are they talking about a personal god with whom a person can have a relationship, or an impersonal force called god. Many of our Founding Fathers believed in the latter. They were deists, believing in neither organized religion nor a personal god.
These charts show many theists these days share the view of an impersonal god (something like "nature" itself). The top chart shows the number of people saying they believe in a god. The bottom chart shows the number who say they believe in a personal god (who they can have a relationship with). Note there is a drop-off with all religions in the bottom chart.
