Given the high price of oil, there is plenty of creativity. Chefs and food lovers propose striking recipes for Week Santa.
Easter is here, a date on which religion suggests refraining from consuming red meat for a few days. If we add to this the high price that the different types of meat and oil are experiencing, there are plenty of reasons to opt for alternative menus.
And as in any commemorative date, the options and recipes flourish with a lot of creativity and passion. Oster and 3 foodies recommend the following alternatives for Easter:
Quinoa Croquettes in Rice Cooker with Oster Air Fryer
By Alessandra Riveros, who shares recipes and tips on her Instagram @manitosquecomen
Ingredients for 15 croquettes
- 1 cup of cooked quinoa
- 1 cup of ground oatmeal
- ½ cup of fresh cheese
- ½ red onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- touch of pepper
Dip
- ½ cup of yogurt
- ½ avocado
- 1 handful of coriander
- ½ teaspoon of salt
Preparation:
To cook the quinoa, pour into the Oster 10-in-1 Air Fryer Rice Cooker, 1 cup of raw quinoa and 2 cups of water. Select the “rice” function and let it cook. Once the quinoa is ready, remove from the rice cooker and rinse the container. Then, chop the onion, garlic and fresh cheese very small. In a bowl, beat the eggs and incorporate the onion, garlic, cheese, oatmeal (ground oats), quinoa, salt and pepper with a spatula. Once a thick batter is obtained, line the base of the Oster Air Fryer basket with parchment paper, and portion with the help of a spoon (approx. 1/8 cup per croquette). Air fry for exactly 10 minutes at maximum temperature. While frying, process coriander, avocado, yogurt and salt until you get a creamy dip. Clever! These croquettes are extremely versatile and easy to prepare. They do not have a hint of oil, they are very tasty and with a high content of fiber and vegetable protein.

By Karime Harcha, who shares tips on her Instagram @karimeharcha
Ingredients
- 500 g of cooked and peeled broad beans
- 100g quartered cherry tomatoes
- 1 small onion chopped
- 150 g of mold pan
- 200 ml of milk
- 50g cream cheese
- 40g grated cheese
- 1 teaspoon of colored chili
- Pepper
- Nutmeg
- Sal
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp white wine
Preparation:
Moisturize the breadcrumbs with the milk and let stand until soft, and then blend with the Oster Immersion Blender, along with the cream cheese and set aside. Split the “top” peppers in half vertically, without removing the stalk, but removing the seeds and their white parts. In an Oster Quick Multi-Cooker, select the Sauté function and add olive oil. Put the peppers upside down until browned on the edge and then on the back. Remove and reserve in a roasting pan. Meanwhile, sweat the onion in the butter with a little oil, add the salt, colored chili and cook until transparent, add the quartered cherry tomatoes, fry and then add the peeled and cooked broad beans until they come to temperature. Once hot, add a little white wine until the alcohol evaporates. Continue with the mixture of bread soaked in milk, salt, pepper, nutmeg and grated cheese. Cook until it boils and turn off. Then, fill the peppers with the mixture, cover with more grated or buttery cheese and introduce for 10 minutes in the Oster 35-liter Air Fryer Oven at 160°C, air fry function, so that it browns gently. Serve with rice or alone as an appetizer.
Chupe de Locos in Oven with Oster Air Fryer
By Gabriel Cifuentes, who shares recipes on his Instagram @gabocif
INGREDIENTS
- Locos 10 units (can be replaced with crab meat, ulte, etc.)
- Panko 100 grs
- 200 g granulated cheese
- Old bread 2 units
- White onion 1/2 unit
- Cilantro 1 handful
- Garlic 1 clove
- dressings
- Salt and pepper
Preparation:
Cut the onion in brunoise, and chop the garlic into small pieces like the coriander and the nuts. Reserve the remaining liquid from this last ingredient and add the aged bread to leave it soaking (this enhances the flavor of the loco in the chupe). When all the ingredients mentioned at the beginning are cut, add them to the Oster Multi-Rapid Cooker and fry them for 15 minutes. Then add the soaked bread, and add some panko and cheese. After the time, fill the sources for the lollipops. Once filled, make a mixture with the remaining granulated cheese and panko, and add it to the top of the dish, so that it forms a crispy crust. Bake in an Oster Air Fryer for 10 minutes at 230 degrees, using the Air Fry function. Everything ready to enjoy.
At Easter you can cook creatively, and without meat.
