Who Has the Cheapest Fixed Rate Electric Plan in Dallas?

Texas Fixed 12 from Pulse Power is a fixed rate electricity plan that has a low energy charge of 12.5 cents per kWh. There’s a base charge of $4.95 per billing cycle as well. That brings the average rate for 1000 kWh of use to 12.7 cents per kWh.

On this plan, the cheapest predicted monthly bill would be $110 in April. In other words, that’s an average rate of 12.8 cents per 857 kWh. However, if we assume an average rate of 12.5 cents per kWh for 1,812 kWh of use, then the worst month would be in August.  In this case, this month comes with a predicted bill of $226.

What’s the Cheapest Flat Rate Electric Plan in Dallas?

Easy Saver 12 from 4Change Energy is a flat-rate electricity plan with a low energy charge of $90 for the first 1000 kWh of use. After 1000 kWh, the rate increases to 16.5 cents per kWh. In short, the average rate for 1000 kWh is only 9 cents per kWh.

On this plan, the cheapest predicted monthly bill would be $90 in April (an average rate of 10.5 cents per 857 kWh). On the other hand, the worst month would be in August with a predicted bill of $224 (an average rate of 12.4 cents per kWh for 1,812 kWh of use).

Which Fixed Rate Electric Plans Are the Cheapest?

Easy Saver 12 is the clear winner. In April, you could save $20 on your electric bill compared to Texas Fixed 12. In August, it’s close. Still, Easy Saver 12 looks to be $2 cheaper. However, when you compare your estimated monthly bill over the year, you pay $109 for Easy Saver 12  vs. $127 for Texas Fixed 12. So, Easy Saver 12 saves you more. 

What Happens When Your Electricity Contract Ends?

If you do not choose a new electricity provider or extend your contract, these electricity providers will move you to their default renewal product. These are variable rate plans with more expensive electricity rates.
