DIY Snow Ice Cream

By Icecreamed

For the month of December, it seems completely permissible to dream of and hope for a winter wonderland. The trees are bare and wreaths hang on many of our neighbor’s doors. It really does feel like the only item missing from our outdoor holiday scene is a light dusting of snow. The arrival of snow surely marks the beginning of something special. It also marks the beginning of shoveling season- that can be a little bit more burdensome. With holiday breaks fast approaching, parents might also be shuffling around trying to find fun child-friendly activities. Try making snow ice cream. It is the perfect way to enjoy the snow, do something fun and easy together, and enjoy a special take on ice cream during winter break.

Simple vanilla is always a crowd pleaser but there are many bloggers who have taken snow ice cream to new and exciting places. Snappy Gourmet blog has four excellent snow ice cream flavors that include: Chocolate Peanut Butter, Amaretto Caramel, Cake Batter, and Chocolate Peppermint. Troll down the holiday aisles at your local drugstore to find fun and inexpensive mix-ins like candy canes. Gold coins, or toasted nuts. If you truly want to take your ice cream making experience to the next level, set out a toppings bar and let your family and friends make their own festive sundae. It is easy to set-up and easy to take-down. (And you’ll have fun in between!)
