Old people freak me out. With their hands and their legs. They’re like the people version of pleated pants.---- Schmidt, New Girl.I want to state quite clearly that I have a lot of respect for old people who in their youth contributed positively to the physical and emotional lives of younger generations. That said.Over the holidays, when the fear of the Ebola virus pervaded, I busied myself learning to make skirts by watching YouTube tutorials. I made a number of pleated skirts following directions from Miso Cosplay's video tutorial on How To Make a Pleated Skirt. Hold on a minute, I do not own a sewing machine, yet. So, this is what I did. I got the fabrics, did the pleats, hand stitched the pleats using long stitches, ironed everything in place and found a mobile seamster to put them all together following my directions. Mobile seamsters usually only do minor amendments like replacing broken zippers and hemming a garment, but I got one to go the extra mile.Anyways, voila, DIY floral pleated skirt. I will be sharing the others I made this way. So, what do you think?
