DIY Natural Skincare Recipes From The Beauty Expert

By Juliet Siu @Lacenruffles
How well do you actually know all the chemicals listed in the ingredient labels of your cleanser or foundation bottles?

For those of you who're new to our toxin-free beauty tribe, I bet you still feel pretty overwhelmed every time when you read the cosmetic labels and how those 20-character long chemical terms and combinations of alphabets & numbers make no sense at all. Trust me ladies, I know how you feel because I've been there! That's why I've started researching about creating my own DIY natural skincare recipes - when you make the products from scratch by hand and you source the most eco and purest ingredients from reliable suppliers, you can be pretty sure of the safety of the products that you feed your skin with.

At first, I started reading random posts about food that's good for our skin and thought they must be great for using in natural skincare recipes too, right? Uh-oh - I have to confess that I did make some terrible mistakes! One of the recipes that was going around that I caught up with was the egg white mask. The myth was that being so rich in protein it can give you an instant face-lift with tightened pores - sounds so promising, doesn't it? Well, the fact? Animal protein is contaminated with bacteria, E. Coli and possibly Salmonella - pop those on to your skin and the end result isn't anything pretty! WHOOPS.

So, the lesson here is that not everything natural is good. You still need to research from credible sources, or like what I've done here, to hit up the qualified beauty experts who give tested and verified advice.

But here's your problem solved, my fellow beauty junkies. Meet Lidija who studied Naturopathy at the Endeavour College of Natural Health in Australia and is deeply passionate about natural medicine. We asked this beauty guru to share 3 of her most effective and easy-to-make natural skincare recipes and here we have them. Warning: these recipes look seriously drool-worthy that you'll need to keep your pets away from the kitchen while whipping them up...
