DIY FRIDAY // 9 Ways With Fairy Lights

By Jax

one //

The sign above is pretty fancy pants indeed but a simple version can be made in a
couple of hours with nothing more than a sheet of mdf, a drill, fairy lights and a good
dose of patience. Check out how to make one here

two //

Use fairy lights to tell your love story or get guests to pin up their photobooth strips
as an alternative guest book idea.

three //

Create an intimate outdoor space using solar fairy lights (no need to plug in!)

four //

Decorate a feature prop or sign for a sweet and subtle light display.

five //

Trees are your friends, Show them you love them by making the light up. For a fab
effect decorate a group of trees together rather than  random ones in different areas.

six //

When it comes to fairy light displays on a large-scale you have two options. Hire from
an events or styling company OR buy bulk in the Christmas sales. I would go the former
if doing a display like above, but for a few panels you will find dirt cheap fairy lights at
The Warehouse post-Christmas!

 seven //

Mix your fairy lights with ribbon to create a marquee effect (no for the impatient!)

eight //

These little wire fairy lights bring mason and bell jars to life and would look great on
the tables or as path lights.

nine //

A fairy light chandelier has been on my to do a list for a while now! The perfect solution
for indoor/outdoor lighting, the above can be achieved with a spray painted hula hoop
and some electrical tape! Another way to rock this look is by recycling a lamp frame or
hanging light fixture (remove the electrics first!) Find out how to make it here.

Check out New Zealand company Party Lights for some goodies.
