Dirty Bones Launch in Soho

By Clo Hutch @lashesoflife

There’s something undeniably irresistible about an American Menu – the stacked-high juicy burgers, sweet soft brioche buns, delicious hotdogs with a variety of toppings, crispy yet tender fried chicken, and super creamy, comforting mac’n’cheese – it’s enough to make mouths water just thinking about it.

.
Dirty Bones just launched a brand new branch in Kingsley Court, Soho – a fab partially opened court with what appears to be a great selection of bars and cool restaurants – a place I didn’t know existed but will be returning to!

.
The inside radiates an American diner feel, with it’s layout and friendly staff. The music, perhaps a little too loud for first dates or catch ups, but creates a cool atmosphere along with the low lighting.

.
There is quite a selection of cocktails, of which we tried four – the Lexy, the Dirty Bastard, The Top Dog and the Mutt’s Nuts. Both more than satisfied with our choices, but my fave has to be the Lexy – really nice and fruity, and I do love a cocktail with fizz!

Choosing from the four starters is a hard decision, but the mac’n’cheese balls are to die for. Crispy on the outside, soft, cheesy and creamy on the inside – they’re like nothing I’ve tasted before. A simply incredible creation!

The dirty dog (I hadn’t had a hot dog in so long it was a no brainer) completely satisfied my craving. With no food envy, the tender pulled pork and crispy bacon topping my hot dog, and a little American mustard for dipping, I had the perfect combo – highly recommended!

Alex had the chicken and waffles. One chicken drumstick and two boneless pieces, tender on the inside with a delicious crispy coating, paired with the sweet waffles and a shot of maple syrup (Alex obviously requested more – he definitely has a sweet tooth!), it all went so well together. Bacon and pancakes and now chicken and waffles – this meat and sweet trend is definitely worth trying!

Along with mains being a good portion size, the fries are pretty large too so we shared a portion of the chilli fries – loaded with chilli salsa, ketchup and spring onion they were pretty good as an accompaniment to our mains. I’m not a big fan of chips/fries so this is a big achievement. Next time I think I’d try the dirty fries :)

.
We finished off with a warm cookie – due to it being the soft launch they were going out free cookies or doughnuts – just a teaser as to how good the desserts look like they’re going to be.

.
But my main reason for returning will be for the brunch – toblerone-tella waffles (caramelised banana, toblerone-tella, blueberry jam, peanut butter gelato, crushed nuts on a freshly baked waffle) and bottomless prosecco for £15, it’s obviously a must add to my weekend lists!
