Directions Hair Dye: Lilac Ombré

By Hellofreckles @tashajsteel
I've been messing with the ol' hair dye and my ombre again!
I'd been considering dying my dip dye a different color for a while. Back in December, I used a semi-permanent pink and I really like how it looked (see here). Then I tried out The Body Shop hair chalks (post here) and had blue dip dye. The next color I wanted to try was purple, but I knew I wanted something more subtle, like lilac.
I mixed the Directions Lilac into the remains of my pink dye, with the hope that it would make a nice pinky-purple. Turns out it did and I'm really pleased with it. Since it's semi-permanent, it should wash out before graduation too!

My pot of Directions hair dye cost around £3 delivered and there's still 3/4 left. You get 88ml in each pot and I do think a little goes a long way.I wore rubber gloves when I applied mine, to avoid getting purple hands, but the splashes of dye on my arm and my neck washed away with warm soapy water - though I did spot them straight away and through experience with hair dye in the past, I knew I didn't want to leave them until I'd washed the dye out! Having a slightly red toned forehead is not a good look and I soon realised how useful Vaseline is along the hairline if you're dying all your hair!

What do you think? Any suggestions for colours I should try next?
