Digital Marketing Vs Traditional Advertising

As the amount of money pouring into online marketing channels seem to keep increasing, more and more people are looking to enter the world of digital marketing in one form or another. But at the same time, a revolution of sorts is taking place in the sphere of advertising, in which the powers that be recognize the need for modernization. Regardless of which side of the fence you are on, there are advantages to both methods, and looking at the spending patterns of some of the world’s largest companies, there is hardly one right way to invest the marketing budget.

To sum up the two major paths, one should consider digital marketing services when you promote your brands/products via the Internet, mobiles and other interactive media. One of the major advantages of digital marketing is that one can target its promotion very accurately to its target audience, and at the same time measure the impact of the campaign. Similarly, digital marketing is typically much more flexible in terms of duration and scheduling for example.

Online Marketing

It is often possible to choose to run an ad digitally and start and stop it and adjust it continuously during the advertising period. It’s seldom possible with a traditional analog ad to change or start and stop it in the middle of an advertising period, and if possible it’s usually very cumbersome and comes at an extra cost.

As an example that most of us can relate to, it is quite easy and without cost to stop a Google Adwords campaign at any given time (it’s most often just the push of a button), but if you need to stop or change a Billboard advertisement that is 100 feet in the air, you might have to pay some extra fees, or at the very least the full amount for the time agreed upon. This also means that you can use a digital marketing agency Delhi or anywhere else in the world, without having to be in the same time zone necessarily.

Old School Advertising

Traditional marketing is however still very much alive and kicking in 2018. In the digital world we hardly move from one website to another without seeing tons of advertisement for all types of products that we may or may not be interested in, but as one advertising agency Philadelphia notes, then physical advertisements target us more directly, and with greater consequence.

Still, a large portion of advertising agencies around the world have switched gears sometime these past 20 years, focusing more and more on building brand awareness, sometimes even involving smell and sound in order to create a great experience for the customers. Depending on what type of products you sell, the target audience and your budget, going with either a digital marketing or traditional advertising campaign will net you results regardless of your choice, but today most companies use a combination of progressive and traditional methods.

So to sum it up, there are pros and cons of both types, most often it is the product itself and an analysis of the competition and the situation on the market that determines which of the 2 types is best to bet on with the product being offered. In many cases, both types are used in parallel to complement each other for the best effect.
