Its been a while since I posted on topic, thanks to those of you who took the time to read my post on Concorde. My life has been crazy of late, I recently came out of a long relationship that wasn't working and since have moved house, twice. The first place i moved too didn't work out well, so I moved again. So please forgive my delay in posting, its been hectic with sketchy internet access and crazy dogs, another story.
You see my plan, now that I'm single with no ties, was to find relatively cheap accommodation whilst implementing the changes I want for my life. This in turn frees up my mind from worrying about bills and work, whilst hopefully affording some financial freedom. This plan is finally coming to fruition although not without its hurdles. So I am just beginning to settle in my new home, still some minor things to sort out but no reason to delay posting...
During the last few weeks I have been trying to find a more productive way of managing my time, something I have been finding very challenging of late. The old cliché of there isn't enough hours in the day is certainly something I can relate to.
I work long hours so finding the time to fit everything else in is proving tricky, usually when I get home I switch on the laptop and I am consumed with social networks, Google+, Twitter, Facebook and this blog that all eat into my time and need maintaining.
Therefore I am currently trialling the use of Tweetdeck to provide some automation and collaboration of my online social media, hopefully it will help. Especially on my phone as it will save going in and out of different apps and give me unified notifications. I did notice a couple of downsides, there is no Google+ integration as of yet and being twitter oriented the facebook integration is basic. So I will see how it pans out.
I also intend to write daily to-do lists and actually follow them to the letter. I recently read GTD or "Getting Things Done" by David Allen in an attempt to cure my time management issues, I took lots of helpful information from the book, but felt some of the systems didn't suit my lifestyle and would take up my limited time implementing and maintaining them, Nonetheless the book is well worth the read and everyone would benefit in some way from reading it.
I have an Android device so I will be using an app called Shuffle for my to-do list which encompasses some of the principles in GTD. Read the book and definitely explore the app.
I will keep you all posted on whether or not these tools help me. Also I will be talking about exercise, losing weight and quitting smoking in the very near future.
