With so many makeup brushes from which to choose it can get pretty confusing, even intimidating to the real beginner if they are faced because of so many choices, though choosing the right make up brushes and using them properly can make a huge difference to the overall effect of your make-up. Needless to say one smart idea is to buy a total make up brush set from somewhere like The Salon Outlet - but then you’ve still reached know how to deal with them.
Here’s a quick guide to the essential make up brushes and what each is for;

• Powder Brush - is probably the most essential brush in a make-up brush set. It can be used to utilize all types of powder / foundation type product. It’s chunky, soft and big . . . not unlike the best sweater actually. • Fan Brush - this make-up brush is rather self explanatory - the bristles are splayed in a fan shape. Use this kind of makeup brush for applying blush along with blending powder and highlight the cheekbones.

• Lip Brush - a lip brush is tiny to be able to apply your lipstick or lip gloss very precisely and carefully to the lips. This type of brush is generally a little bit stiffer compared to the big, soft powder brushes. • Angled Eye Make-up Brush - is small with angled bristles great for defining your eyes with eye-liners - even gel ones. This type of brush has hard type bristles for perfection and precision. • Eye-shadow brush - has softer bristles than the angled defining brush and is perfect for applying powder eye-shadows. This kind of make-up brush usually has a rounded shape. • Concealer brush - this type of brush is narrow and relatively firm to ensure it can be used on concentrated parts of the face - the bits which should be concealed. • Flat brush - a reduced, soft powder type brush with a very flat end instead of the usual rounded shape. This is particularly used for contouring the cheeks (a bit like Kim Kardashian does) and allows you to receive the color immediately below the cheekbones. • Smudge brush - for those smoky eyes. This type of brush has very soft bristles perfect for smudging a small, concentrated area of the eyelid. • Eyebrow Comb and Brush - this handy component of makeup equipment is great for both the eyelashes and the eyebrows. You are able to smooth the brows down with the brush and get clumps of mascara from the eyelashes with the comb. • Angled Eye Liner Brush - this extremely thin, angled type of liner brush provides for the utmost precision. It also enables you to choose how thick you want your eyeliner to be. • Blending sponge - how come a sponge is a part of a piece about makeup brushes? Well, a sponge is not a brush, it’s a sponge but it’s also a vital piece of makeup equipment which you should always have handy. Blending sponges are the perfect item of equipment for blending liquid foundations and giving that flawless, smooth and professional finish. • Blending brush - similar to the powder brush this type of large, soft brush should be used to lightly brush on your face once you have finished applying your makeup. Many makeup brush sets will include a small number of these brushes - some are absolutely essential and some are just used for an extremely specific purpose . . . at least so now you know exactly what that purpose is. Make sure you clean your makeup brushes regularly. Hope this post helps. ♥ xoxo, M. Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to Facebook
