Didn't Think I'd Be Back Here Before August

When Ernie (who for some reason likes to moonlight as my unofficial "agent") casually FYI'd me at 8:30 pm last night that I'd be flying back to Colombia to meet some clients with him this morning, giving a whole new meaning to the phrase "burning the candle at both ends", I wasn't even surprised at the ease with which I had all the insane amount of work I have back home rescheduled or the speed with which I had my suitcase zipped shut.

Last minute change of plans tends to carry an irresistible appeal when airplanes and great cities are involved, and although I have little idea what's in my luggage besides toothbrush, laptop and a bundle of semi-clean clothes, not many things could beat the contentment I feel right now just to be curling up in my hotel bed in the heart of Cali, except maybe not having to wake up at 4:30 AM to catch my flight to Bogota tomorrow.
