Spending your entire salary on a new iPhone always comes with extra expenses as you will need more cash to get a decent data package, music, videos and all the new apps. Most of the cost goes to buying paid apps. And a latest research suggests that in 2012,  people around the world have spent a total of $8 billion dollars just to buy smartphone apps.

According to Research2Guidance“The market for paid application downloads has reached US$ 8 billion in 2012 in the top 5 app platforms,”  including Apple App Store, Google Play, BlackBerry App World, Nokia Ovi Store and Windows Phone Store. That is a 27% jump compared to stats in 2011.

It is not a surprise to see this kind of an improvement considering how the main app platforms like Google Play and Apple App Store are growing their database at super-speed with millions of new applications. And this also proves how fast mobile technology grows every year.

How much do you spend on smartphone apps? Let us know in the comments.
