A movie o rocket launches have been shared online claiming that China recently created an artificial sun in the sky.

A video showing a glowing object rising in the sky above the ocean is trending on social media. There are claims that the footage shows China making its artificial sun. In a 30-second viral video, the sun-like ball can be visible rising from beneath and appearing from the air. Beachgoers can be heard shouting in a foreign language as they record the glowing orb as it’s emerging from one side of the.

Context: China’s Artificial Sun

China recently announced the launch of an “artificial sun,” which was on display for up to 17 minutes during its most recent test. The temperature increased by 70 million-degree degrees and, in other words, it was five times hotter than the sun’s natural. In a research study on the artificial sun in China, 60 Foro Nuclear notes that the artificial sun is a replica of the sun’s production of energy. Artificial suns are Nuclear fission reactors that can produce large amounts of clean energy and the least waste. The hydrogen atoms go through fission, and a portion of their mass transforms into energy. The point can rise to greater than 150 million degrees Celsius, which is ten times hotter than the sun’s nucleus.

The claim:

Indian Journalists also tweeted the same video using the Hindi text that says” #Video’ #China #ArtificialSun.”

Rap TV majorly covered pop culture and music and posted the video with a note that reads, “China debuted a new artificial sun.”

Newsie, the online news platform with more than 36k followers, posted the clip on Facebook with the same assertion.

The video is a hit on Facebook and Twitter as well.

Claim:

Video viral showcases China unveiling an artificial sun.

Fact Check:

The Logical Indian Fact Check team examined the claims and determined them incorrect. The viral video shows a Rocket Launch at the Wenchang Spacecraft launch site in China. In our research, we found that in the comments section, social media users have pointed out that the people were talking about rocket launches within the clip. A user on Twitter commented, “That’s a rocket according to what the man said in the video. Nothing about the new sun.”

A user posted the link of the story of China having launched an A Long March rocket. He wrote, “It was probably this recent launch (Rocket) — when captured on phone video from a safe distance.”

I’m embarrassed I even need to take @hoaxeye into this, but this is obviously a rocket launch and experimental fusion reactors look like giant washing machines and *do not let the plasma leak out into the air* https://t.co/Fue4AMtESx

Then, we searched for a news story on this 7A rocket’s launch. The article from Space News dated December 23, 2021: “China successfully launched a new-generation Long March 7A rocket, delivering a pair of Shiyan-12 test satellites into a geosynchronous transfer orbit. At 5:12 a.m. Eastern, the Long March 7A blasted off from the seaside Wenchang Satellite Launch Center, soaring into a broken hazy sky shortly after local sunset”.

A journalist monitoring China’s space program, Andrew Jones, shared the Rocket Launch video footage on December 23.

Another film that shows the 7A rocket launch on YouTube was shot from a different angle. The video’s title is “Two secret satellites launched by improved CZ-7A, Chinese medium new generation rocket.” In the text within the film, the two satellites were called Experimental-12 01 and02.

Although The Logical Indian was unable to determine the source of the viral clip, it’s evident that our research has proven that the assertions made by the video that went viral are not factual. It is important to note that China did indeed launch the artificial sun program to generate clean energy; however, it was conducted in a controlled environment. If the launch had been born in an open environment, it could have been disastrous as the temperature reached 70 million degrees in the experiments. The viral video shows the launch of a rocket, but it doesn’t show China’s latest launch of an artificial sun.
