Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-thon Oct 2013 – Hour 1

Posted on the 12 October 2013 by Thetravelingreader @travelingreadr

Wheee! So excited to get started. Been a while since I last participated in the readathon as a reader so lotsa things to get excited about. Now on to the introductory questions.

What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

I’m reading in this cozy corner called bed in my room in Cebu – just one of the many beautiful isles in the Philippine archipelago.

Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

I joined the readathon at the very last minute so I have been hardpressed to really prepare for a stack. I did come up with a shortlist of chick lit books by Filipino authors which includes:

  • 12 Steps to Quitting AJ by Faye Ilogon
  • Fan Girl by Marla Miniano
  • Interim Goddess of Love by Mina V. Esguerra
  • Love Your Frenemies by Mina V. Esguerra
  • She’s Dating the Gangster by Bianca B. Bernardino
  • That Kind of Guy by Mina V. Esguerra
  • What’s in Your Heart by Ines Bautista-Yao

But I’m not sure if I really wanted to read them now so I guess I’ll just have to start with something else – Kate Klise’s Dying to Meet You (Book 1 of the 43 Old Cemetery Road Series).

Which snack are you most looking forward to?

Chocolates! They’re God’s gift to men.

Tell us a little something about yourself!

I’m bookaholic and a chocoholic. Books and chocolates are so not a good combo especially if you’re trying to lose weight. Haha

If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

This is my third or fourth attempt and this time, I’m participating as a reader rather than a cheerleader (of which I won some prizes in the past). I’m most looking forward to taking some time to make a dent on my piling TBR.

Now off to read!
