Devonshire Square Landscape, London – Public Realm

By Davis Landscape Architecture @DavisLandArch

Devonshire Square is a small square located close to Liverpool Street train station and functions primarily as a turning circle for traffic. The carriageway surface has been paved with quality stone paving and the center of the space is finished with a gravel topping. As well as giving the space a high quality feel the surfaces indicate to the  car driver that they are entering a ‘shared’ type space and should slow down and be vigilant of pedestrians. The space at the center of this square is dedicated to pedestrians. As its perimeter are large wooden bollards, inside of these are pleached trees and at its center are clusters of single seating units.
