It’s looking like it’s going to be a very nostalgic year for this year’s pop music. The Backstreet Boys have announced another album and tour, New Kids on the Block are planning to hit the road again, and rumors have surfaced of a 98 Degrees reunion. On top of that, earlier today, Justin Timberlake announced that he would be making his long awaited return to the studio, and will be releasing a single this Monday.

With all the excitement stirring up and nostalgia hitting some of us especially hard, it only makes sense that a very famous girl group would share some news with us. Because why should the boys have all the fun?

The group in question?

The third best selling girl group of all time, Destiny’s Child.

After both Kelly shot down rumors of an upcoming album all last year, Beyonce took to her blog to confirm the rumors of a new song. On her official website, Beyonce wrote, “I AM SO PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE FIRST ORIGINAL DESTINY’S CHILD MUSIC IN EIGHT YEARS!”

The music in question, namely a track called “Nuclear”, will be released along with previously recorded songs on an album entitled “Love Songs”. In addition, both Michelle and Kelly are rumored to be joining Beyonce during her performance at the Super Bowl.

Since the release of their last album, “Destiny Fulfilled”, the three women have been hard at work.

Kelly Rowland released “Year of the Woman” last year, which peaked at #24 on the US R&B charts. She also collaborated with Atlanta rapper Ludacris on “Representin’”, and was featured on the remix of Future’s “Neva End.”

Michelle Williams found success on Broadway and in the gospel world. Williams is set to release a gospel album later on this month on top of the Destiny’s Child release, and will join the cast of the national tour of Fela! this month as well.

Beyonce, of course, has risen to the status of being a household name. She is set to perform at President Obama’s second inauguration, the half-time show for this year’s Super Bowl, will star in an HBO documentary on her life, as well as starring in an upcoming animated film.

“Love Songs” is set to release on January 29, and is available for pre-order on Amazon.
